The Raj Reddy Center will take up efforts to build emerging research-based solutions that can address some of the gaps and needs. For this, the center will closely work with NGOs and government to understand the ground situations and set forth the problems with them. After the problems are identified they are categorized into broad themes taken up as projects to bring in effective solutions in their on-field interventions. Agastya International Foundation:One of the world’s largest mobile and hands-on science education programs, for 20years, catering to economically disadvantaged children and public-school teachers. The non-profit organization based in Bangalore, India drives to spark curiosity, nurture creativity and build confidence among economically backward people. A team of scientists, educators, and entrepreneurs led by Ramji Raghavan founded Agastya in 1999. Agastya runs hands-on science and art education programs in rural, semi-urban, and urban regions across 19 Indian states through low-cost and unique models of interventions like mobile labs in vans and bikes, science fairs, science centers and peer teaching. Now looking at significantly scaling their efforts as they are going more into core teaching & e-learning, they want to work on their teacher enablement and leveraging new pedagogy models through AR/VR and interactive learning technology. Pravaha Foundation: Started working on schools for gifted kids from rural and economically weaker sections. Started leg work 2 years back. They did a pilot hosted at our campus in summer 2019. They have helped us take out STEP programs through teacher content to Navodaya. We were all set to scale 2020 June (70 schools), and pandemic happened. Now we are working with them to scale up plans in their 15 new campuses, with the first one in Telangana to start with and actively getting engaged in their 100M school kids in 5 years plan.
Nirmaan:Started in 2005 they work in the areas of Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Social Leadership. In the past 15 years of journey, we have impacted the lives of 1+ million beneficiaries with the support of 220+ full time employees and 750+ strong volunteer network, generating immense Social Impact through 12 Flagship Programs & Social Leadership Initiatives benefiting Children, Women, Youth and Farmers from diverse social backgrounds across 8 States of India.
Rural Relations:Gyan-key library hanger, one of the initiatives of Rural Relations, is a Public Participation Program (PPP). The entire contribution received from Gyan-key supporters goes to the bookseller (Patil Enterprises). They conceived the program and acted as facilitators, ensuring successful implementation and efficient operation of the Gyan-key library hanger initiative. The Gyan-key program provides books on 103-148 different genres to a number of government schools. So far they have installed 5170 physical libraries in rural schools with this initiative.
