The center will take a bottom-up, problem-centered approach to leverage research and technologies in solving societal problems. It will identify a few socially relevant themes and take up projects in them to create a sequentially linked amplification of impact.

Translation of Research to create social solutions

Applied research will be the main means of bringing in these innovations. Translating the latest research through product design and engineering to address specific societal needs identified from and by the domain. The Center will undertake incremental research to fill in needed knowledge gaps. It will bring in fellows and researchers from social sciences and technology research to take on social problems.

 

 

Convergence of Social Sciences, domain insights, development specialists, product designers and engineering will ensure the right solutions are built to solve relevant problems. Project teams will be composed with all facets factored in, and will take a very strong end solution view. Every endeavour will be made to create standards, reusable frameworks, and platforms to enable a much wider impact in the years to come. The Raj Reddy Center will take up the efforts to build emerging research-based solutions that can address some of the gaps and needs.

 

Work at Ground Level

We would like to work with NGOs and the government to understand the ground situation and needs. Based on this, we will build the solutions that can help with teacher training, supplement teaching through tools, personalise the assistance for teachers and students, take creative pedagogy to the students through AR/VR and mobile solutions, leverage intelligence to personalise teaching and learning, behavioural & cognitive tools for better targeted interventions, and many more.
